Jason Wu Madness

Hi all - Did you wake up early for Jason Wu at Target? I was an hour late to my Target, but still scored a dress and top (to the left). For those of you who haven't shopped yet, the sizes run fairly big. I normally wear a Small in a Target dress size, and the XS for Jason Wu fit me to a tee.

Who's excited??? I can't wait to check out this line tomorrow morning. I'm going as soon as my local Target opens. I hope I can score some cute dresses for work. You can preview the Jason Wu line on Target's site. 


I'm not a huge fan of Target for home goods and beauty stuff. I had a bad experience there when it came to registering for my bridal shower, but these partnerships with high fashion designers are making me rethink loyalty to them. It's genius really. It's fun saying you own a dress or clutch from a lux designer you couldn't normally afford. Same with H&M when they did the Jimmy Cho line. I hope there are more designer partnerships to come!

Step-by-Step Styling

1.       Part the hair to the side then apply Wella Professionals Velvet Amplifier to wet hair and blow dry smooth

2.       Add a pump of Wella Professionals Mirror Polish to hands and apply lightly to hair, starting at the ends, to smooth out any fly aways

3.       Tease the crown of the hair to add a little height and pull into a mid-height ponytail

4.       Twist the ponytail and then wrap into a bun and secure with bobby pins

Step-by-Step Styling

1.       Apply Wella Professionals Extra Volume Mousse to wet hair and rough dry

2.       Then, using a 3/4" barrel curling iron, add waves to the hair by rotating the direction of the curl

3.       Once the whole head was waved, spray Wella Professionals Ocean Spritz on the hair to break up the wave and add texture

4.       Loosely pull the hair back into a low pony  and secured it with an elastic

5.       Then split the pony into two sections and braid them both, then wrap the braids into a bun and secure with bobby pins

6.       Once the hair is up, apply a dab of  Wella Professionals Bold Move styling paste to fingertips and define a few pieces around the face

7.       Spray all over with Wella Professionals Stay Firm finishing spray

SAG Beauty - Rose Byrne's Red Carpet Hair

Check out Rose Byrne's new look debut on the SAG Awards Red Carpet. Her stylist...my favorite guy - John Frieda International Creative Consultant Harry Josh! 


Harry Josh says that her new look is "70's inspired with a modern twist. Think Michelle Pfeiffer in Scarface meets a modern day Anna Wintour." 


Here is how Harry styled Rose's new 70's inpsired bob to go with her chic white Elie Saab jumpsuit for the red carpet:

Step 1 - Saturate the Roots with a Volumizer
"I needed to get a lot of lift at the roots. Without that, the look would just fall flat," says Harry. On wet hair, he applied tons of John Frieda Full Repair Root Lift Foam ($6.99) which not only gave him the weightless lift that he needed, but also helped to protect against damage caused by heat styling. 


Step 2 - Protect the Roots
Harry applied the Full Repair Perfect Ends Deep Infusion ($9.99) to smooth the ends and make sure they looked healthy and groomed since her new cut is so blunt. 


Step 3 - Blow Dry with a Round Brush
Section by section, Harry used a natural bristle brush and angled the blow dryer down to get maximum shine.

Step 4 - Place Velco Rollers at the Crown
Harry used the rollers to lock in the volume.
