Dude Self Tanner with SPF 15 oil free formula with aloe & vitamins A, C, & E - $17.99

Guys will find that Hey Dude products contain none, or a minimal amount of, any of the following ingredients, all of which have considerable evidence discouraging or questioning their use based on clinical studies:
• Parabens

• Formaldehyde-releasing preservatives
• Propylene glycol

And you're likely never to see:

Golden Globe Beauty - Kate Winslet

Lancôme ambassadress Kate Winslet’s look from the Golden Globes was created by Avon Global Creative Color Director Jillian Dempsey.

“Kate Winslet’s look was shimmering, soft and sophisticated,” said Jillian Dempsey.

Jillian used taupe and champagne shades on Kate’s eyes and lots of rich mascara for extra definition.  A pop of rose blush on her cheeks gave Kate a youthful, natural-looking flush.  Jillian topped it off with a creamy rose lip color for a fresh finish.

Golden Globes Style - NARS

Makeup by Toby Fleischman for NARS Cosmetics
Inspiration:
"Sometimes the stars just align (pun intended) and tonight with nominee Evan Rachel Wood, her look came together so organically. Of course with a Gucci Premiere gown such as hers, it was all about the dress so we wanted to keep the make up clean and soft.
When I saw the new NARS Spring collection, it was as if the products were created specifically for this look!  We had so much fun getting ready for the big day. We rocked out to some of our favorite tunes (Lykke Li), ate some yummy snacks (cookies of course) and most importantly laughed!"
The Look:
Paramaribo Duo Eyeshadow (new for Spring 2012) was the exact gilded gold and bronze we wanted to create a soft metallic eye that would pick up the accent of the feathers.  Then we used Almay One Coat Nourishing Mascara on the lashes to finish the eye (ok maybe more than one coat!).
To keep the rest of the face feminine, the new NARS Gaiety Blush (new for Spring 2012) was amazing for a sheer flush of pink on the cheek along with a swipe of good-old standby NARS Angelika Blush to add a bit of shimmer.
NARS Sex Machine Velvet Matte Lip Pencil topped off with Como Larger Than Life Lip Gloss gave Evan a soft mauve pink lip to complete the look.

Golden Globes Style - Hair by Wella

Michelle Williams, winner for Best Actress had her hair styled by Chris McMillan using Wella Professionals.

Chris says, “Michelle looks incredible with this short, modern Mia Farrow inspired style.  It’s a retro ‘60s combined with Flapper flair type of look that shows there’s still a lot of glamour and versatility with short hair.”
  1. First, apply Wella Professionals Natural Volume Styling Mousse to wet hair and then shape hair with hands to air dry naturally in the direction of the style.
  2. Once dry, use hands and a hair dryer directed at the roots to give extra lift at the crown and body throughout.
  3. Then apply Wella Professionals Mirror Polish because the shine serum adds a polished finish while smoothing hair into a shape.
  4. Adding a simple black headband with jeweled brooch gives a modern spin to this retro look.
  5. Push bangs over to the side where the jewel is positioned for a heavy fringe effect.
  6. Spray Wella Professionals Stay Essential Finishing Spray to smooth hair down and give hold throughout the night.

The beautiful Busy Phillips had her hair styled by Chris McMillan using Wella Professionals for this evening’s Golden Globes. Just yesterday, she was at the Wella Professionals Beauty Bar with her young daughter, where they both had their hair styled in matching braid updos.

“What I love about Wella stylers is that they are light and there’s no product buildup so the hair still has a natural look and won’t get weighed down throughout the night,” Chris explains.

  1. Prep wet hair with Wella Professionals Natural Volume Styling Mousse and loosely dry for a textured finish.
  2. Spray Wella Professionals Stay Essential Finishing Spray while hair is nearly dry so it’s slightly piecy and pull into a imperfect, textured French twist.
  3. Add a headband at the top of the head to complete the look for an added touch of elegance.

Wella Professionals stylists have been busy tonight creating the top stars’ hair looks for the Golden Globes. Here are the details on Shailene Woodley’s hair look, styled by Campbell McAuley for Wella Professionals.

1. First, prep wet hair using Wella Professionals Velvet Amplifier and then let dry naturally with a diffuser. Campbell says “I love this product because it makes the hair look healthy and shiny and gives great volume.
2.  Once nearly dry, lightly mist hair with Wella Professionals Thermal Image Heat Protection Spray before using a 1 ¾ curling iron to enhance natural waves.
3. Once hair is prepped, then take a section from crown to ears to divide hair into a front and back split section.
4. At the back section, pull hair back into a ponytail, not pulling it too tight so that there is still a natural hair movement.
5. Spray Wella Professionals Shimmer Delight Shine Spray in the front section to give the best glossy finish for the red carpet.
6. Then, sculpt hair into a side parted wavy style with hands moving into a beautiful twisted bun.
7. Finish off with Wella Professionals Stay Essential Hairspray

Wella Professionals Celebrity Stylist Andy LeCompte has provided his inside scoop on styling MADONNA with Wella Professionals for her win on tonight’s Golden Globes Awards.

According to Andy, “Madonna wanted easy natural texture hair.”
“To start, I rough dried her hair manipulating and emphasizing her natural texture.  Next I applied a mist of Wella’s Thermal Image Heat Protection Spray to protect the hair from thermal heat as well as give the hair a slight bit of texture.  I spray this before I use my FHI platform 1 inch flat iron to make soft S formations, giving the hair a natural wave texture.  Then finish with a mist of Wella Professionals Ocean Spritz Beach Texture Spray.  One of Andy’s fave product, he says “I love Wella’s Ocean Spritz to break up the texture.”

Lancome Glamour Eyes Kit - Limited Edition

Michelle Phan has launched her limited-edition Lancome Glamour Eyes Kit. Has anyone checked this out yet? Michelle does a great job at explaining and demonstrating application in her video below.

The kit includes a new Color Design 5 Pan Palette (Chic by Chelle), which was created a named by Michelle herself, as well as Michelle's other Lancome favorites: Artliner and Hypnose Drama Mascara.

The Glamour Eyes Kit launched exclusively at Sephora and Sephora.com. Available while supplies last!

“I was inspired by my `Day to Night Makeup’ Lancôme video, where I used two 5 Pan Palettes,” says Michelle. “I figured I’d create one palette that was versatile enough for both day and night makeup.” The resulting palette, Chic by Chelle, features neutrals for a more casual look, along with purple, silver and black for instant glamour—all in the intense 5 Pan Palette formula.  “I'm so excited to use this kit to ring in the New Year!" adds Michelle.

CND Shellac Cleary Pink or Clearly Clear?

I Shellac'd my nails last night since I was leaving for Chicago today for work, and didn't want to worry about a chipped nail while traveling. I wanted to test a new color for you all, so I decided on Clearly Pink. I was a little disappointed. They should have named this color Clearly Clear. It is as clear as a top coat. I read on the CND site that it was made for those who can't wear color to work (ie interpreters, nurses). So I understand why they launched it with their second line, but be warned, its really clear.

I put one coat of Cleary Pink, and one coat of Romantique, to add color (along with base and to coat). Want to see more Shellac swatches? Check out my other Shellac posts!

Looking for a Job? Make Sure to BeKnown!

If you’re a new grad, looking for a new job, or currently out of a job, the beginning of the new year is the best time to dig in and start searching for openings. A lot of companies post brand new openings after the first of the year. This year could be the year you land your dream job!

I remember using Monster.com when I was looking for a job at out of college. It was great to be able to put in select criteria I was looking for have Monster.com do the searching for me. Joining in on the social trend, Monster.com recently launched BeKnown, a professional networking app for Facebook. BeKnown allows you to set up a professional profile directly on Facebook that is completely separate from your personal Facebook page.

One of the apps and newest features of BeKnown are College Pages, which provides a way for alumni to network professionally on Facebook and view job postings from their fellow graduates. Want to connect and network on the go? They also have an iPhone app.

So once you use BeKnown to land an interview, make sure you are prepared! Do your research on the job. My worst interview experience was when my interviewer asked if I knew the names of the founders of the company, and I didn’t. HUGE mistake!

Along with knowing the background and ‘ins & outs’ of a company, you should also pay special attention to your appearance and how you present yourself. Besides being confident and polite, you have to look and be professional. Here are a few tips to keep in mind:

-       Dress to impress:
o   Suits are always ‘in’ for interviews. Even if you are interviewing at a company that has a casual dress code, still dress up for the interview. Do not assume that wearing jeans to an interview is okay, even if the person interviewing you has them on.
-       Keep it neutral:
o   Now is not the time to experiment with new wild colors! Makeup is okay to wear, just don’t go over the top with bright colors. It can be distracting! Wear ‘daytime’ makeup, leaving the glitter and dark colors for night time.
o   Wear neutral color clothing. Anything with stripes and patters could be distracting as well.
-       Put your best hand forward:
o   Make sure your nails are trimmed and clean. Chipping nail polish can give off the impression that you don’t care about your appearance. You don’t have to have polish on, but if you do, keep the color neutral.
o   If you don’t want to wear polish, make sure fingernails are clean and filed.

Be confident and Good Luck!
