My NYE nails! CND Shellac in Rock Royalty with Zillionaire glitter on my ring finger.

I've been noticing reality show stars, magazine pictures and Pinterest trends with one finger nail different than the rest. I don't like totally opposite colors, but I do like the glitter look on just one. I've seen Rihanna do this a lot as well.

CND Shellac Decadence

I chose CND Shellac Decadence for my holiday nail color. It's a lot brighter than what it looks like in the bottle. It's a pretty 'Christmas' red, more warm, unlike Hollywood or Wildfire, which are cooler toned reds, more like '4th of July' reds.

I just purchased Masquerade and Fedora at the beauty supply store. Swatches to come soon!

Splurge vs. Steal...Sears Style

If you live in Michigan or anywhere else that experiences four full seasons, you need to drastically change your wardrobe from summer to winter. And if you have a job where you have to look somewhat professional, that means you need two new wardrobes: one for work, and one for play. This can get pricey! My advice: go somewhere you can get the most for your money. The big name department stores will drain your wallet and you'll only come out with one new outfit! I recently hit the fashion jackpot at Sears, where I found 2 dresses, for both work and night, and accessories, all for under $65!

I'm sure everyone has seen ads for Sears Kardashian Kollection which is pretty trendy, but they also have several other great lines like Apostrophe, UK Style by French Connection and Bongo. I was on the hunt for fun dresses that I can wear to work during the day with a blazer, and then transfer to night time with bling accessories. I hit the jackpot with 2 Apostrophe dresses.

The first one is a black tunic dress. I've been wanting a tunic dress with a tie belt forever! To the right is a picture of me in the new dress, along with gray tights from Apostrophe. Now check out this black tunic for $84, not much difference besides the leggy model :) This Apostrophe dress was $19.99, and the tights were only $6...score!

The next dress I purchased was a wrap dress (left). It looks cute with a jean jacket over it for during the day, and then heels and bling for at night. I purchased a ring from the Kardashian Kollection specifically for this dress ($14.99), that really shines. I can also wear the Apostrophe gray tights with this dress.

Compare this dress on sale for $24 (regularly $48) to this wrap dress. Again, not much different but the price.

Ladies - let this be a lesson, if you need a wardrobe refresh, check out Sears, and help your dollar go further!

John Frieda video shoot debut!

 

Drum roll please...it's finally in, my final makeover video from John Frieda! I'm so excited to share it with everyone. Please check it out! 

And for all of you who are wondering, I'm still sporting the cropped short hair. I was nervous about the extreme side part at first but it's almost like I trained my hair to do it, and now it naturally parts to the side. And Harry was right, it's super easy maintance and easy to recreate before work. 

Before Harry and the John Frieda stylists got a hold of my hair, it was very dull from washing it every day and from using shampoos made especially for combating well water. Harry's advice to me was: don't wash hair every day. I always felt like my hair was super greasy the next morning if I didn't wash it, but with a little John Frieda Luxurious Volume dry shampoo, my hair looks freshly styled, and I'm good skipping a day of washing. Overall, my hair is looking healthier and less dry from so much washing, and I get to sleep in a little later on the days I don't wash my hair! 


I've also continued using John Frieda Clear Shine Luminous Glaze about 3 days a week. I can't get over how healthy my hair looks after using the glaze. I apply it to my hair, in the shower, after shampooing and conditioning, and leave it for about 3 minutes, and then rinse. Its just a clear glaze so it works on all colors, to help give hair a shine boost!
